Very tricky! It's been baffling me for months now.

The family was still in Louisa County in Union, at the time of the 1880 census. Asa's son Charles was still living with his mother, Flavilla. I haven't found where Flavilla went after that either but Charles was in Nebraska by the time of the 1900 census. I haven't been able to locate any information for the 1890 census but I believe that is the year that a lot of the census information was lost.
