Wapello — Last rites were held for Mrs. Alta Margaret Gauss, 82, of Burlington on Thursday at the Elliot-Lunning chapel in Burlington with burial at Memorial Park, Burlington. Mrs. Gauss died Tuesday at Burlington hospital, following a
short illness.
She was born in Missouri on Nov. 7, 1880, the daughter of Nels and Harriet Nelson. She married George Christian Gauss at Wapello on Feb. 18,1897 and they made their home in Wapello for several years.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters and one son. One daughter and one grandchild preceded her in death.
