Clairidon 'Don' Weiershauser
CONESVILLE - Clairidon "Don" R. Weiershauser, 64, of rural Conesville died Thursday, Jan. 16 (1992) at his residence, following an extended illness.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Muscatine, followed by a time of fellowship.
The body will be cremated. There is no visitation.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at the church. The cremains will be interred at Memorial Park Cemetery with a private family committal. Arrangements under the direction of the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction.
Clairidon Ralph Weiershauser was born on Sept. 27, 1927, in Muscatine, a son of Paul and Verna Beil Weiershauser. He married Gail N. Watkins on April 4, 1947 in Davenport.
Don was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and Ducks Unlimited.
He was an avid gardener, a grower of roses and conservationist of waterfowl.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and had worked as a truck driver in the area, retiring in 1985.
Survivors include his wife, Gail; four daughters Mrs. Ron. (Christine) Savoy of Auburn, Wash., Pam Freers of Muscatine, Mrs. Lyle (Vickie) Johnson of Wilton, and Mary Weiershauser of Muscatine; three sons David of Conesville, Mark of Hilo, Hawaii, and Matthew of Lee Sumitt, Mo.; 15 grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren and two brothers, Robert of Muscatine and Jack of Kiowa, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, and a grandson.
