Richard P. Hartman

Richard Paul Hartman, 56, of 704 W. Fillmore, Fairfield, (Iowa) died a 8:03 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 1992, at Jefferson County Hospi­tal.

Born Sept. 22, 1935, in Fair­field, he was the son of Harold Patrick and Anna I. Nott Hart­man. He married Carol M. Gerst of Oakville on Oct. 1, 1955, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Fairfield.

He was a member of the Medical Company of the Iowa National Guard, St. Mary Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge and the Walton Club.

Mr. Hartman began working for Dexter Co. in 1953. He was foundry sales marketing director.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Connie Pool of Birmingham and Colleen Cooper of Arvada, Colo.; three sons, Jim of Belle Fourche, S.D., Mike of Atsugi, Japan, and Mark of Fairfield; three sisters, Gwen­dolyn Peterson and Jean Cox, both of Fairfield, and Eloise Cebuhar of Agency; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

The Christian wake service was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday followed by family visitation at Raymond Funeral Home, Fairfield.

The funeral for Mr. Hartman will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Revs. James E. Grubb and William Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.

Memorials have been estab­lished for the University of Iowa Cancer Research Center and the Ottumwa Regional Health Foun­dation for Family Recovery.
