Adrian Carlson

Adrian Boyd Carlson passed away at 2:30 p.m., Sept. 22,1992 at the home of his daughter, Diane Gerst, in Springfield, Missouri.

He was born July 27, 1907 at Oakville, Iowa, the son of Ed­ward and Bertha Rold Carlson.

He was a graduate of Oakville High School, and was of the Methodist faith. He worked several years for the Corps of Engineers, and delivered petro­leum products in the Oakville area for 38 years.

He was active in baseball as a pitcher for several teams in semi-pro leagues in his early yars.

He was an avid sportsman and loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and all outdoor activities.

He married Aliene Graves on May 22, 1932 and they observed their 60th anniversary this year.

Survivors include his wife; son Burrell Adrian and his wife, Lola; dauhter Diane Lea Gerst and her husband, Richard; one sister, Juanita Hayes of Rock ls­land, Illinois; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grand­children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, George, William and Alvin, and two sisters, Gladys Carlson and Mary Frasier.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial gifts maybe made to the Antioch United Methodist Church Build­ing Fund, P. 0. Box 1914, Spring­field, MO 6580.

Funeral service for Adrian Carlson will beheld at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 1992 at Dudg­eon-McCalley Funeral Home at Wapello with the Rev. Lexie Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Ceme­tery at Oakville.

The family met friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at Dudgeon-McCul­ley Funeral Home.
