Miss Mary E. Bonner passed away on Monday, Nov. 2, at 2 p. m. at the home of O. B. Jamison, where for so many years she made her home. She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, Feb. 15, 1841. In about 1865, her from Ohio to the home of George Jamison, her uncle, Mrs. Jamison being her mother's sister. She was an excellent spirited woman, tireless and devoted to the interest of the household and tenderly loved by all. For some years after her coming from Ohio she was a school teacher in Louisa county, teaching at Fairview and in Wapello, in the old brick building which is now a part of the Commercial hotel. In the sickness of Mr. George Jamison, who passed away after two years of suffering of cancer and Mrs. Jamison, who was an invalid for five or six years, she was an indispensable nurse.

She became a christian in her early life in Ohio. During her life she had her church membership at Bethel. She leaves two brothers, Henry J., of Arcadia, Okla.; James T., of Columbus, Neb., and two half brothers, Joseph Bonner, of Toledo, Ohio and W. T. Bonner, of Boston, Mass. The funeral was held at the home of O. B. Jamison, Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 1:30 p. m. conducted b Rev. J. E. Newsom. Interment at Bethel cemetery.
