Barton Garrett, of Letts, the aged father of Senator-elect A. M. Garrett, passed away Tuesday morning at his home in Letts. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Garrett was 82 years of age on August 21 of this year. He is survived by his wife and by four sons, A. M. Garrett, and Ulrick Garrett, of Letts, J. M. Garrett, of Kansas City and Joe Garrett living on a farm west of Letts. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. W.A. Longnecker of the Methodist church of Danville, will conduct the services.
