Muscatine Journal: Milton Rice, the superintendent of the Muscatine county farm, succumbed at 5:45 o'clock Monday morning at the institution to a complication of diseases, which has threatened his life for several months. Mr. Rice has been in poor health for about a year and although on several occasions it was feared that the malady might prove fatal, he recovered. He visited Muscatine on last Monday and seemed to be rapidly recovering his strength, but that evening he was taken ill again and since that time he gradually became weaker.
