Word was received at Grandview last Friday of the death of Hilton U. McGrew at his home in Van Wert, Iowa, where he moved last spring from Grandview township. The cause of his death was diabetes, with which disease he had been afflicted for a period of about a year. The deceased was born and reared in the Grandview neighborhood and was a man of high character and good business qualifications. His death will be deeply mourned by relatives and a host of old friends. He is survived by his wife and one son, Vern, besides his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. M. S. McGrew, seven brothers, Willis, Harry, John, Charles, Edward, and Carl and two sisters, Kathrine, and Mrs. John Callahan, of Muscatine. The remains were brought to Grandview Saturday and the funeral was held Sunday with interment in the Grandview cemetery.
