Mrs. Minnie Robald Cilley was born in Wapello, Iowa, August 25, 1849 and died at her home in Wapello May 24, 1910. Her parents, both natives of Germany were William and Minnie Rabold. They were early settlers in this, one of the oldest county seats of the state, until death; the father passing away in 1884 and the mother in 1909. She grew to womanhood here in Wapello and was married here to L. Irving Cilley June 9, 1872. To them were born two children, William W. Cilley, of Des Moines, Iowa and Mrs. Minnie L. Davison, of Wapello.

As a woman she had the respect and esteem of all who knew her, was of a quiet, unassuming and retiring disposition. As a mother and wife she sought to fill her place in the fullest sense of the words. Ten years ago her health began to fail, but only in the last three years was the nature of her trouble and its seriousness manifest. In her early life she became a christian and united with the German Methodist church. The funeral services were held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joiner Davison, Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. Newsom. Interment in Wapello cemetery.
