Page 1Mrs. Harriet Emig Gentzler, one of the oldest residents of Columbus City township, died at the home of her son, Adam Gentzler, in Columbus Junction Friday morning, Dec. 17, 1909, age 86 years, 9 months and 13 days. Mrs. Gentzler was born in York county, Pa., March 4, 1823. She was married to Levi Gentzler in 1846. To them were born ten children, six of whom died when young. The remaining children are: Mrs. James Ogier, of Hedrick; Mrs. Ed McCoy, of Columbus City; Reuben and Adam Gentzler, of Columbus Junction. Mr. and Mrs. Gentzler removed to Iowa in 1865, and here they spent their remaining days. For the past thirteen years, since the death of her husband, Mrs. Gentzler had made her home with her son, Adam, of Columbus Junction.
