Mrs. Mary McGinnis was born in County Limerick, Ireland, Dec. 6, 1831, and died at her home near Wapello, Iowa, Wednesday, April 7, 1909, at 5:45 pm , aged 77 years, four months and one day. Her maiden name was Ford. She was married to Mark McGinnis in Rochester, New York, Oct. 3, 1853. To them were born nine children, all but two dying in infancy. One son, C. J. and one daughter, Mary, survive and continue to reside at the old home. Her husband died Dec. 22, 1898. The funeral was held Friday afternoon at the Catholic church with interment in the Wapello cemetery.
