(Muscatine) Jesse B. Jarvis, a former resident of Wapello, died at his home in Muscatine last Friday. The funeral was held at the First Methodist church in that city at two o'clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. Thomas Osborn officiating. The Woman's Relief corps and Shelby Norman Post G. A. R. attended in a body. Mr. Jarvis was quite well known in this vicinity where he resided about twenty years ago. Most of his life, however, was spent in Muscatine county, in the vicinity of Fruitland. He lived here at the time his son, A.W. Jarvis, was county attorney of this county, whose tragic death by stabbing on the streets of Wapello, is yet fresh in the memories of many. After the death of his son, he removed to his farm near Fruitland and later to Muscatine. He was about 77 years of age. He was not related in any way to the well-known Jarvis families in Louisa county.
