A stranger, giving his name as E. Henderson, died at the Silverthorn hotel today shortly before noon of pneumonia. He came here last Saturday sick and pneumonia developed. which carried him off suddenly and unexpectedly. He had been working down on the levee near Oakville for a few days, but was taken sick a week ago Monday, and finally came to Wapello where he could receive medical treatment. He was about 54 yeas of age, according to the information given him to one of the Sellers girls. He had no home in this country, but said that he had relatives living near Davenport, but refused to give names. He was evidently of German descent and had probably not been long in America. The remains were taken to Keck's undertaking room.
