(Martha Kendall) Martha Fulton was born in Richland county, Ohio, Feb. 18th, 1835 and departed this life in the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. C. Downs, In Wapello, Iowa, May 10, 1905, at 7 p. m., at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 22 days. She came to this state in May 1854, at the age of 19 years and was married to Mr. Hosea Kendall, Oct. 21st, 1858. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters, a son and daughter died in childhood, while two survive. Mrs. E. E. Kendall, of Cairo and Mrs. M. C. Downs of Wapello, the husband and father having passed away Dec. 16, 1878.

In young woman hood she gave her heart to the Master and for more than 50 years has been a follower of her Redeemer. Some six years ago Mrs. Kendall met with an accident and since has been confined to the house, a shadow of her former self. She was cared for by her daughter until on last Wednesday and mother Kendall passed to her reward. She was laid to rest in the Oakland cemetery with kindred dust. Funeral conducted by Rev. Wm.
