Clara May, the six year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Havenhill of Cairo, died of diphtheria last Friday and was buried at midnight in the Fulton cemetery. She was a very bright, winsome child, and was especially gifted in music for one of her years. Six children remain, the oldest, Laura, 17 years of age, being sick with the same disease. It is supposed she contracted the disease from the germs remaining in the house, there having been a case of diphtheria in the family four or five years ago. The family has the sincere sympathy of the neighbors and friends.
