Ruth Wallingford, daughter of J. M. and Ophelia Wallingford, was born in Minnesota November 19, 1892, and died in Wapello, Iowa, Sabbath morning March 19, 1905, after several weeks of great suffering, aged 12 years and 4 months. Ruth spent most of her school and Sabbath school life here in Wapello, where she was greatly beloved for her sweet, pure spirit, especially in the Sunday school, where he class missed her so greatly these weeks of her absence. In her home is where she will leave the greatest vacancy. Her sweet, pure spirit, the comfort of the parents, and the light of the home life has gone out. In her sickness she was patient and when the hour of her departure came, the end was peaceful.
