Columbus Junction, July 19 -The remains of the late Mrs. W. E. Allen were brought in this morning from Davenport and buried in the cemetery at Columbus City. She had died in a hospital in Davenport, which city had been her home at 1021 Ripley street, her death having occurred on July 15. She had been in very poor health for several months, and the cause of her death was a cancerous affection of the liver. Her husband is the eldest son of the late Capt. W. G. Allen, of Wapello and besides him she leaves one daughter, Miss Mabel, to mourn her death. She was married to Mr. Allen at Wapello over twenty years ago, her maiden name being Oxley.
