Columbus Junction - Philip Rasley was born in Mt. Bethel, Pa., July 6, 1838 and died at his home in Columbus Junction, at 3:50 p. m. Sat morning, July 9, the cause of death being paralysis. Mr. Rasley was married to Margaret Reed of Bridgewater, Pa., September 2, 1851. To them were born seven children, five of whom are now living. They are: Henry R., of Cedar Rapids (Ia); Eli R., of Toronto, Canada; W. C., of Vinton, (Ia.); Arthur, of Cedar Rapids, and Edwin R., who is at home and one foster daughter, Mrs. Mamie Paxton, of Columbus City. Mr. Rasley was a member and elder of the Central Presbyterian church at this place at the time of his death and has been elder ever since joining here in 1875. Mr. Rasley moved to Louisa county, (Ia,) in 1854 and settled in Columbus City.
