The citizens of Grandview and surrounding community were greatly shocked last Saturday morning, March 19, when the announcement was made that one of the most respected citizens had passed to the great beyond. Jeremiah Krahl was popular with a wide circle of friends and his untimely death caused deep sorrow in the community. He was held in the highest esteem by his legion of friends and acquaintances. The patient possessed wonderful vitality and out up a heroic struggle against his ailment, apoplexy, from which he had suffered nearly two months.

The deceased was born in Pennsylvania November 19, 1845 and departed this life March 19, 1904. He came to this county in 1861. He was united in marriage to Anna Stineman February 2, 1871. To this union four children were born - Harley, Lewis, Lizzie and Pearl. In addition to the bereaved family, the following sister and brothers survive: Mrs. Sarah Hahn, of Octavia, Neb., Lewis Krahl, of Aurora, Ill, and William Krahl of Huston, Texas. Deceased was converted in early life and at once joined the United Evangelical church of which he was a consecrated member until death. The funeral was conducted from the United Evangelical church Sunday afternoon whee a large crowd assembled. Rev. L. H. Wood conducted the services. Interment occurred in Grandview cemetery.
