The injuries received by H. H. Banks in a runaway a week ago Monday resulted in his death last Thursday. He never fully regained consciousness. The funeral was held Saturday forenoon from Bethel church, conducted by Rev. M. E. Reusch, with interment in Bethel cemetery. The deceased was born April 28, 1835, in Lawrence county, Pennsylvania. He came to Wapello about the year 1856 and on March 9, 1861, was united in marriage to Mary Jane Hamilton, who survives him. This union was blessed with six children, four of whom are now living, Mrs. Birdie Wilson, Mrs. Matie Peters, James and Guy all living in Wapello and the two latter at home. The deceased also has two sisters living in Pennsylvania. Mr. Banks was a highly respected man and a good citizen, and his death is deeply regretted and mourned by a large number of neighbors and friends.
