Mrs. Geo. D. Plitt died Sunday, Jan. 2, 1898, at 9:45, aged 72 years, 4 months and 11 days. Her maiden name was Rose Marie Graff and she was born at Veal, Canton Bern, Switzerland, Aug. 21, 1825. She came to America with her parents when 19 years of age and was married to Geo. Plitt, in 1847, from which union eleven children were born, of which only two, Miss Rosa and H. A., are now living.

The deceased was a long time member of the German M. E. church, having united with it a Louisville, Ky., in 1846 and transferring her membership upon her removal to this city. She lived a true, christian life and has passed to her reward. She has been a great physical sufferer, having been an invalid for forty-six years. The loss of her husband a short time ago so preyed upon her that she soon followed him. The funeral services were held from the German church at 2:00 p. m., Tuesday, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Zimmerman.
