Margaret Jamison Deihl, died at her home in Morning Sun, Iowa, Friday July 7th, 1893 from paralysis of the brain. She had the first stroke on the Sunday night previous to her death, and another on Tuesday while some of her friends sat about her engaged in conversation. Mrs Deihl was born in Fayette County, Ohio, Febry 8th, 1821 and came to Iowa with parents when 20 years of age. The following year in May, she was joined in marriage to George Johnston with whom was born one daughter, Mrs. Capt W. J. Campbell of Elrick, Ia. Mr. Johnston died in 1847. Some years after she was again married to John Deihl, of this township, the results of which union were three sons and three daughters, two sons and one daughter only surviving her, Her husband, John Deihl died in Sept, 1878. The next year Mrs. Deihl and her daughter, Miss Lizzie moved to Morning Sun where they continued to reside.

The funeral services were conducted at the E. E. church, Morning Sun by Rev. J. M. Hoober on Saturday the eighth inst. and the remains were interred in the Bethel cemetery, where a large number of her old friends and neighbors had gathered and joined in paying the last tribute of respect. Mrs. Deihl was a daughter of Meritt Jamison and a sister of George and Matthew Jamison of this tp., the only two remaining members of a once large family. She was a woman of generous impulses, a devoted Christian and was greatly esteemed by the large circle of acquaintances formed in the more than 72 years.
