Mrs. Emily Marshall Sellers, died at her home in Marshall township, this county, Monday July 10th at 1 o'clock p. m. She was the daughter of John Marshall, who settled in Marshall tp. in 1836. She was born in Clark county, Ohio, in Febry 1818 and came to Iowa in 1838, locating in the county where she continued to reside. About 6 months ago she was stricken with paralysis and has since been a great sufferer. At the early age of 17 she united with the M. E. church and has remained in active connection and hearty sympathy with that church. She has a kindly heart, ever ready to extend a helping hand and was greatly beloved by all who came within the ever widening circles of her acquaintances. She leaves eight children, five sons and three daughters. The funeral services were held in the Cairo church, conducted by Rev. John LaCornu and the remains were laid to rest in the Fulton cemetery.
