Perrin Nott, a veteran of the civil was and a member of the community for a number of years, died at his home Sunday morning after a long illness. He was born at Morgan co., Ohio, May 16, 1864 and came to New London, Iowa at the age of ten years. He afterwards moved to Illinois where he enlisted in the 89th Illinois Volunteers in 1863. After the war he came to Iowa where he was married to Miss Susan C. Rayless, February 8, 1866. To them eleven children were born, six of whom preceded him in death and five of whom with the wife survive.

The surviving children are: Frank Nott and Mrs. Edna Ashby, of Oakville; Harry Nott, of Tampa, Florida; Mrs. Ethel Spiker, of Toolsboro; and Mrs. Pearl Turner, of Palisades, Colorado. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Henry Bramer, of Fairfield; Mrs. John Whittaker, of Muscatine, Mrs. J. S. DesPain, of Ft. Madison and one brother, William Nott, of Davenport. Mr. and Mrs. Nott were faithful attendants at the Methodist church.

A short funeral service was held at the home Tuesday morning conducted by Rev. Roy Johnson, after which the body was taken to Oakville where services were held and interment was made in the Oakville cemetery.
