Andrew Lischer was born at York, Pennsylvania, September 13, 1845 and passed away at his home at Griswold, Iowa,July 13, 1923 at the age of 77 years, 10 months. He was united in marriage to Catherine Leffler at Baltimore, Maryland in 186 and they came to Iowa and located at Columbus City in April 1867. To this union eight children were born the wife and five children having preceded him in death.

In August 1886 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Mary Wooley at Columbus City, Iowa, where they resided until they moved to Griswold, Iowa in April 1892. To this union were born six children, all of whom with the widow, three step sons, 31 grandchildren and 6 great grand children survive. The remains were brought to this city and funeral services were held Tuesday July 17th at the United Brethren church at Columbus City conducted by Rev. E. E. Bosley. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
