Mrs. Anna J. McCoy. Miss Anna J. Whiteaker was the daughter of Isaac and Mary Manley Whiteacker. She was born in Union Mills, Mahaska county, Iowa, February 12, 1858. She grew to womanhood around this vicinity passing away here at the age of 65 years, 4 months and 11 days. She was united in marriage to J. M. Cunningham July 4, 1881. She was the mother of twelve children, nine of which preceded her in death, all in infancy except one daughter, Mrs. W. P. Anderson who died in 1920. She is survived by three children, two daughters, Mrs. Guy F. Lewis and Mrs. W. H. McNatton, both of Columbus Junction and one son, W. E. Cuningham of Forth Worth, Texas. Also one sister, Mrs. Rosetta Alloway of Columbus Junction, one brother, J. T. Whiteacker of Muscatine. Eight grand children and one great grand child. On December 17, 1913 she was united in marriage to Francis M. McCoy who has proceeded her to the great beyond.

She has been in failing health for a number of years. She was a kind and loving mother, a good neighbor and a firm believer in her God. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. H. Dillon at the funeral home of Gilkey & Son. Interment was made in the Columbus City cemetery.
