Mrs. Jack J. Duncan, a highly esteemed resident of this community for fifty-eight years, died Sunday morning at six o'clock, April 22, at her home on West Hill, following an illness of seven weeks. Ella Jennings was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, January 31, 1862 and came with her parents to this county at the age of three years. February 2, 1881, she was married to Jack J. Duncan in this city which has since been their home. For more than forty years she was a member of the Reformed church and was also active in Rebekah and Royal Neighbor lodges.

She is survived by her aged mother, Mrs. Amelia Cook, who made her home with her, by her husband, J. J. Duncan and two children, E. L. Duncan, of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. E. M. Barnard, of Muscatine. She is also survived by two brothers, Oren and Arista Jennings of this city and one sister, Mrs. Laura Booth, of Wheatland, California. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Reformed church conducted by Rev. W. E. Ruston of the Presbyterian church. The services at the grave were in charge of the local Rebekah lodge. Interment was made in the Columbus City cemetery.
