Page 7Mrs. Grant Gregory. -- Mary Lousie Braden was born February 11, 1867, near Northfield, Iowa and died November 3, 1921 at the home of her daughter in Valasco, Texas. She was the only daughter of John R. and Carrie Braden of Northfield, Iowa. Mrs. Gregory united with the Presbyterian church at Kossuth, Iowa at an early age. For seventeen years she was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church at Morning Sun, Iowa. Then the family moved to Burlington, Iowa from thee to Tampico, Mexico.
She was married to Grant Gregory November 15, 1888. To this union was born three children, Frank Braden, who died in early infancy, Marguerite, now Mrs. A. R. Gamble of Velasco, Texas and Florence Miriam, now Mrs. E. C. Vickery, of Orange, Texas. Into these homes came the grandchildren, Helen, Clyde and Bernice Gamble, Mildred, Ellen and Chester Grant Vickery. She is also survived by one brother, Dr. A. L. Braden of Wellman, Iowa and three girls to whom she gave a mother's love and care. Mrs. Mina Owens of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Harriet Allen of Burlington, Iowa and Bertha Isaacs of Lloyd Minster, Canada.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Morning Sun, Monday, November 7th, conducted by Rev. Newsome, assisted by Rev. Nichols, of the Presbyterian church and were largely attended. Interment in Elmwood cemetery.
