Page 1Mrs. Charles Philips, a lifelong resident of Letts, died at 2:10 o'clock Monday morning at Bellevue hospital, following an extended illness of anemia. She had been confined to the hospital since July 7. She was 22 years old. Mrs. Philips, who was formerly Miss Bessie Longstreth, was born at Letts on January 5, 1899 and lived there practically her entire life. She was married in May, 1919, to Charles Philips who with one son, Argonne, survives. Her mother, Mrs. Bell Longstreth of Letts; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Woodhouse of Willard, Mont., Mrs. May Dosland of Lemmon, S. D., Mrs. Amy Garard of Muscatine; and three brothers, Warren and Fay Longstreth of Mansfield, Ill. and Lee Longstreth of Mango, Fla. also survive.
