Eliza Webster Frizzell was born March 18, 1837 in the state of Ohio and departed this life Thursday, April 28, 1921 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jacob C. Smith, of Columbus Junction with whom she has made her home since the death of her husband thirteen years ago. When but a small child she moved with her parents to Iowa and located with them in Louisa county. At an early age she united with the M. E. church at Bethel and has always been a faithful believer in her Savior. She was united in marriage to J. O. Frizzell in the summer of 1855. To this union nine children were born, all of whom are living with the exception of one son, Harry, who preceded her in death.

The surviving children are: (unreadable), Eli of Garden Grove, Iowa; Marion, of Greenville, Idaho; Mrs. J. M . Pasley, of Portland, Oregon; Curtis, of Bassett, Nebraska; John of Muscatine. She is also survived by thirty grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, residing at Fairfield. Funeral services were held at Bethel church south of Wapello Sunday at one o'clock conducted by Rev. Newsome, of Morning Sun. Interment in the family burial grounds at Bethel cemetery.
