Emeline Teeple was born in Adams county, Indiana, January 18, 1843 and passed away at Dubuque, Iowa, February 8, 1921, aged 78 years, 1 month and 5 days. She was the seventh of a family of nine sisters and was a daughter of Andrew and Margaret Teeple, deceased. She came west to Iowa in 1862 and lived in the vicinity of Cairo until last August when she went to Dubuque where she passed away.

Miss Teeple was converted and baptized a number of years ago and united with the Church of God at Cairo. She was true to her faith until death. She is survived by two sisters, Harriet Stoopes, of Ardmore, South Dakota and Sarah Coon, of Manley, Nebraska and other relatives and friends. The remains were brought to Columbus Junction and funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in the Church of God, at cairn, conducted by Rev. Jesse Huddle, of Wapello, assisted by Rev. Roths, of the United Evangelical church. Interment in the Cairo cemetery.
