Clara Elsie Thomas was born in Columbus City, Iowa, June 17th, 1913, being four years one month and ten days of age. She was the daughter of Fred e. and Hazel E. Thomas. Her mother passed away April 29th, 1916. Clara, along with her sister, Pauline and brother, Paul, has been in care of her grandmother, Mrs. C. E. Thomas, since that time. She was taken sick Tuesday, July 24th and passed away Friday, July 27th, 1917, at Des Moines, Iowa. She was an exceptionally good child every one who knew her loved her. She leaves to mourn her death her father and brother and sister, grandmother and grandfather Thomas and grandmother Briggs, besides near relatives. Funeral services were held from the United Brethren church in Columbus City Tuesday at 2 p. m. conducted by Rev. R. J. Allred.
