William Austin, a resident of the lower end of Louisa county, died at 7 o' clock at Wapello Monday evening as a result of injuries sustained when he was struck by a Minneapolis and St. Louis train while walking the track between Old Elrick and Elrick Junction. He failed to notice the approaching train and was struck by the engine. Both shoulders were crushed and he was injured internally. He died about ten hours after the accident. He had been in poor health for some time. His wife and two children, Louie, of Lomax, Ill and Miss Zola Austin, of Wapello survive.
