Miss Rose Thompson, daughter of Mrs. Susan Thompson, of Morning Sun, died at the home of her mother in that city, Thursday, April 16th, following a brief illness. She was born in Morning Sun,March 31, 1879, her father dying May 2nd that same year. She grew to womanhood in Morning Sun and graduated from the high school there with the class of 1897. Later she taught school and for the past twelve years she has been a faithful and trusted employee of the State bank, of Morning Sun. She became a member of the Presbyterian church at the age of twelve and was always a faithful worker there, teaching in the Sunday school, leading the choir and taking an active part in Christian endeavor and missionary societies. Besides her mother she is survived by four brothers, William A. Thompson, J. Thompson and Carl Thompson, of Morning Sun and Dr. James R. Thompson, of North Yakima, Washington. The funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Morning Sun. Interment in Elmwood cemetery.
