The entire community was deeply grieved Wednesday evening when word came from Muscatine that Mrs. Fred Weber has passed away at the Bellevue hospital a few minutes after three o'clock. Mrs Weber had been ill for some time and was taken to the hospital a few days ago where an operation was performed in the hope that it would bring her relief. Mrs. Weber's maiden name was Johanna Mestzer an she was born in Stuttgart, Germany, June 24, 1853. Here she spent her girlhood coming to America in 1882 and making her home in Chicago where she was united in marriage to Fred Weber, July 14, 1883. In October 1891 they came to Louisa county and moved on the farm northwest of this city. Mrs. Weber, true to her early training devoted herself to her home and children. Early in her life she became affiliated with the German Lutheran church.

Her husband and the following children mourn her death: Mrs. D. H. Ritchey, of Kusa, Oklahoma, Mrs. B.L. Lewis, of Mystic, Iowa; Fred Jr. and Arthur, of this community and Robert, Harry and Florence, at home.
