Mona Lucille, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Shaw, was born near Fredonia, Iowa, January 5, 1907 and departed this life Sunday evening February 2, 1917 age 10 years, 1 month and 21 days. She was apparently a perfectly healthy child, up until a little more than a week ago, when she was stricken with acute diabetes. Mona was a bright, amiable child, a loving daughter and sister. She leaves to mourn her departure, besides her sorrowing parents, one sister, Pauline and one brother, Leo, besides a large number of relatives and friends. The funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 11 a. m. at the Fredonia M. E. church, by the pastor, Rev. E. C. Brooks preceded by short services at the house. Interment was at Indian Creek cemetery.
