Miss Mary Theresa McLaughlin, a popular young woman, of Wapello, died at her home in that city at an early hour Tuesday morning. Her death followed a prolonged illness. The deceased was born near Cairo September 3, 1887 and moved to Wapello with her parents when a young girl. She graduated from the Wapello high school in 1903 after which she took a business course at a Chicago school. Later she accepted a position as Court Reporter at Sulphur Springs which position she held until failing health forced her to relinquish it. Five brothers survive her. They are William, Charles and John of Wapello. Thomas, of Muscatine and James of Carter, S. D. The remains were taken to the Catholic church at Dodgeville, Wednesday morning where requiem mass was celebrated by the Rev. Father Gallagher.
