George Boke, for many years a resident to Columbus Junction, died at his home in the north part to town, December 5, 1916, after a long illness. Deceased was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, October 29, 1840. He came to Iowa in 1852 and located on farm east of Fredonia and later moved to this city. His wife preceded him in death just a few weeks ago, November 23, 1916. The surviving children are: Samuel, of Muscatine, Mrs. Nellie Sharrard, of Seattle, Washington, and Dick, Dave, Charlie and Mrs. Harry Hopkins, of this city. Five children preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Hopkins, Wednesday afternoon at 2'o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. C. Brooks. interment in the Tennessee cemetery.
