Mrs. Salinda Edwards, well known resident of this city for many years died at her home Sunday morning at 7 o'clock after an illness of several months. She had been in poor health for a long time but became suddenly much worse Saturday and only lived a brief time. Salinda Schmeltzer was born in Elk county, Pennsylvania September, 9, 1841 and came to this county with her father, Jacob Schmeltzer when she was about ten years of age. She was first married to William Wadleigh and to them two children were born a son Thomas and a daughter,Mrs. Cora Wilgus, but of who with the husband and father preceded her in death. A number of years later she was married to Newton Edwards, who died about ten years ago. She is survived by her half brother, J. F. Schmeltzer of Mantens, Illinois. Mrs. Edwards was converted early in life and became a member of the Adventist church. The funeral was held at the home Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. S. R. Drake. Interment was made in the cemetery at Columbus City.
