Ed Latta, one of the oldest residents of Louisa county, died at his home in Grandview Thursday evening, September 14, after an illness of several days with dropsy. He was about 73 years of age and almost all of his life was spent in Grandview, where he engaged in the real estate business. Mr. Latta was united in marriage many years ago to Miss Jackson, also of Grandview, and to them were born two sons, Frank and Sam. Frank preceded his father in death a few years ago and Sam and the mother survive. Deceased was a veteran of the Civil war. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge of Wapello and a large number of the knights from there attended the funeral which was held in Grandview Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
