Mrs. Hazel Aleen Thomas, wife of Fred E. Thomas of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, passed away at nine o'clock, Saturday evening, April 29, 1916, at the Sunny View sanitarium. She was born in Columbus City, August 6, 1891 and was twenty four years, nine months and twenty three days old. She spent the greater part of her life in Columbus City and September 8, 1908, she was married to Fred E. Thomas. After spending the winter with her mother at Columbus City she departed about six weeks ago for Oshkosh but became ill a short time after arriving there and gradually became worse until death called her home.

She was a member of the United Brethern church for a number of years and took an active part in the Sunday school work. She is survived by her husband and three small children, Paul E aged 6 years, Pauline aged 5 and Clara E, aged 3 and her mother,Mrs. Ellen Biggs, of Columbus City. The remains were brought to this city Wednesday morning from Oshkosh and taken to Columbus City where funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the United Brethern church conducted by Rev. R. J. Allred. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
