Mrs. O. J. Derby, a well known resident of Louisa county residing between Wapello and Grandview died at the Burlington hospital Saturday evening, March 18th. She underwent an operation about six weeks ago and was believed to be recovering when it became necessary to operate again. Her weakened constitution could not withstand the shock and her death followed. She was the daughter of Matthias and Lucy Benz and was born in Louisa county September 17, 1864. She was married to O. J. Derby, March 4, 1885. Her husband and five children survive. The funeral was held at the home Monday afternoon.
