Mrs. L. R. McKee, a well known young woman of this community having resided at Cone before her marriage, died at her home in Muscatine, Monday morning, March 6, 1916. Her death was not unexpected as she had been ill for some time. Geneva Miller was born in Oregon in 1888 and came to Iowa with her parents at the age of seven years, taking up her residence with them on a farm near Cone. Six years ago she was united in marriage to L. Ransom McKee, a well known young man of Cone, Two years later the happy couple moved to Muscatine Mr. McKee becoming a member of the firm McKee Bos., wholesale fruit dealers of that city.

Mrs. McKee was an active and devoted member of the first Methodist Episcopal church at Muscatine. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Harry and Lee, and by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Miller and two brothers, Stanford and Tracey and two sisters, Ruth and Nellie all of Vesper, Wisconsin. The remains were taken to Cone where funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. U. S. Smith. Interment in the Cone cemetery.
