Frank Chittum Lukins. There were many hearts made sad in Columbus Junction Monday afternoon when the word came from the home that Frank, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Emmett Lukins had died at 1:30. Frank was a bright manly boy who made friends with every one. For a number of years he delivered the Muscatine and Davenport evening papers and lately had been assisting at the Shoop barber shop after school hours and on Saturdays. He was converted last fall at the Harper meetings and later united with the Methodist Episcopal church. He attended the Sabbath school and church services regularly striving earnestly to incorporate in his young life the teachings of his Savior.

Frank Chittum Lukins was born at Wapello, July 13, 1902 and died at Columbus Junction, December, 13, 1915. He moved with his parents to this city about six years ago and entered the local school where he was a studious and industrious pupil, having reached the seventh grade. He is survived by his parents, and two brothers, Claude and Ralph, and also by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Wilson, of Wapello. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church conducted by Rev. E. C. Brooks. The pall bearers were six of his playmates. Frank O'Neill, Charles Jennings, Archie Norris, Alfred Richey, Will Pence, Dwight Stone. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
