Israel Rabenold, one of the pioneer settlers of Louisa county, died Monday morning at 11 o'clock at the home of his son, Edgar Rebenold, at McCausland. Deceased was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, October 15, 1842 and at the time of his death he was seventy-three years, one months and fourteen days of age. He grew to manhood in Pennsylvania and in 1863 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Heberly and they came to Iowa to make their home locating on a farm near this city. They made this county their home ever since, living in this city a number of years until last spring they moved to McCausland with their son, Edgar, making their home with him. To them were born five children, two of whom died in childhood, the children who with the aged mother survive are: Edgar, of McCausland, Isadore and Ervin, of near Ainsworth. He is also survived by one brother, who lives in Lehigh county, Pennsylvania. Mr. Rabenold was an honest and upright man highly esteemed by all who knew him. Many friends here mourn his death. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Reformed church conducted by Rev. T. M. Balcoff. The burial service will be conducted by the I. O. O. F. of which organization Mr. Rabenold was a member for a great many years. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
