Conesville, February 2 - Friends here were shocked to hear of the death of Robert McCurdy, who accidentally shot himself while out hunting. The gun went off tearing the top of his head off, his parents became worried about him and his father started out to search for him and attracted by the barking of the two dogs who had gone out with his son, he hastened to where they were and found his son lying cold in death. Robert Heath McCurdy was born October 11, 1900, at Muscatine, Iowa and died at Catawissa, Mo., January 28, 1915, aged 14 years, 3 months and 17 days. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel McCurdy and two sisters, Bertha and Jeannetta and one sister, Zula, preceded him in death several years ago, and one brother, Wilson, at home. He is also survived by two half sisters and three half brothers. The remains were brought back from Catawissa to Cone accompanied by his parents and short services were held at the home of his uncle, Allen McCurdy, Sunday, January 31 at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. C. E. Ewing. Interment at the Brockway cemetery.
