Mrs George Boulton, a well known resident of this county for many years, died Sunday evening, January 31, 1915, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George S. Hanft, in this city. Mrs. Boulton has been in poor health for several months from the infinities of increasing age and gradually became worse. Elizabeth Blanchard was born in New York state September 27, 1836 and at the time of her death was 78 years, 4 months and 4 days of age. She came to Iowa in girlhood with her parents and moved with them on a farm near Wapello where they lived for a few years then moved on the farm south of Columbus City. She was married October 21, 1856 to George Boulton and they spent many happy years until he was summoned in death July 26, 1906. Since that time she has made her home at the homes of her children.

She became a Christian early in life and she and her husband were among the earliest members of the United Brethren church at Columbus City. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. G. S. Hanft, Mrs. H. H. Skipton, Mrs. Lee Cutkomp and by four sons, W. T., George, John and Wesley Boulton, all of whom reside in this vicinity. She is also survived by two brothers, James Blanchard, of Wapello and Timothy Blanchard and one sister, Mrs. Caroline Starks, who live in Missouri. A short funeral service was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Hanft, Wednesday morning, at ten o'clock after which the remains were taken to the United Brethren church at Columbus City, where the service was in charge of the pastor, Rev. Hutchins. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
