Simeon Snyder, the third son of Ahart and Anna Snyder, was born in Berlin, Germany, on March 23, 1837, and died on Sunday evening, Nov. 9, 1913,having reached the age of 76 years, 7 months and 17 days. When he was only eighteen months old he came to this country with his parents and he was the last surviving member of a family of five children. On July 4, 1858, a Portsmouth, Ohio he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah M. Lozee, who has been an inseparable companion to her aged husband during these past fifty five years. Mr. and Mrs. Snyder were not blessed with any children of their own but they have one foster child, Dollie, wife of Frank Miller of Napa, California. Mr. Snyder has been a member of the Conesville M. E. church for a number of years and acted as their janitor for over seven years, during which time he was only absent from the church two Sundays. Funeral sermon was preached by Rev. H. F. Bohn, pastor of the Methodist church.
