Francis J. Swank was born in Muskegon county,Ohio, December 11, 1840 and died at the Hershey Hospital at Muscatine, June 30, 1913. He came to Iowa at the age of 18 and September 13, 1866, he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah E. Havens, who died about thirty-three years ago. He served in the Civil war in Co. A, 2nd Iowa Infantry. Three children survive to mourn his death as follows: Mrs. Ella Orr, of Cone, Ellis of Muscatine and George of Lone Tree. Funeral service were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Reformed church at Cone by Rev. C. E. Ewing. Interment in the Beauchamp cemetery.
